Chippendale Bookcase in Tiger Maple
This Chippendale style bookcase was built from solid tiger maple and is based on several pieces of furniture made in Winchester Virginia in the late 18th century. This bookcase features a matched set of highly figured tiger maple, ogee bracket feet, fluted quarter columns, and one piece crown molding. The construction of the bookcase is done with handcut dovetails which are visible from the top of the piece. The shelves are attached to the sides of the piece with a very solid sliding dovetail joint. The size, style, wood selection, and coloring can be customized to suit the customer's requirements.

 Solid tiger maple construction - utilizing a matched set of wide boards for full grain patterns.
 The dimensions are 74" high x 44" wide x 14" deep - other sizes available on request
 Front quarter columns are fluted by hand and feature hand turned bases and capitals
 Solid tiger maple backboards
 Handcut dovetail joinery throughout the piece
 All molding and trim details were based on period styles.
 This bookcase was finished with a hand rubbed wiping varnish - then buffed and waxed to a satiny sheen.
