Sheraton Dining Table
I have built several of these Sheraton style dining tables for customers who wanted a well-built custom table with elegant hand-turned legs. The table was constructed from solid cherry with finely turned legs and breadboard ends. The overall size of this table shown was 72" x 42" x 30" high to provide comfortable seating for 6 - 8 people. To increase the seating capacity for larger gatherings, a pair of matched company boards was constructed for the table. With the company boards in place, the size of the table increases to 104" x 42". To ensure accurate period construction and details, the top of this table was built from a three board matched set (three boards cut sequentially from the same log for excellent color and grain matching). This represents a significant difference from readily available tables - the boards in this top were 14" wide on average with beautiful coloring and grain patterns. The table size, style, wood selection, and coloring can be customized to suit the customer's requirements.
