Whispering Woodworks
Chippendale Stereo / Display Cabinet
Based on the style of the Chippendale period, I designed this cabinet for one of my customers to keep her stereo out of sight in her formal living room. The glass doors allow the operation of the remote control without opening the cabinet. This piece could also be used to display a collection, store books or magazines, or store glass wear. The piece shown was constructed from solid cherry.
Very solid top and sub-top construction
Joinery is all half blind dovetails
A second shelf could easily be added to the cabinet interior - either glass or wood
The dimensions can be modified for a specific application
Piece shown was finished with shellac and rubbed out to a high gloss
