Maryland Corner Cabinet - Frederick County
This corner cabinet was built as a reproduction of a family original that was believed to have been built by a cabinetmaker in Frederick County Maryland in the early 1800's. Using pictures of the original piece and measurements from a reproduction that the customer's father had made about 25 years ago, I was able to work out the plans and dimensions for this piece. This cabinet was built from a matched set of solid black Walnut - including a beautiful set of walnut crotch pieces for the cabinet doors and drawer fronts. The cabinet rests on a pair of turned bun feet. The lower section of the cabinet features a cabinet with an interior shelf and a set of three drawers above the cabinet. The upper section is divided with three large shelves with scalloped fronts and a fourth smaller shelf at the top. The front of the upper section is covered with a large set of cathedral shaped glass doors. The upper doors feature curved mullions and muntins in the upper section and are fitted with individual panes of handblown reproduction glass. The upper glass doors, cupboard doors and drawers are all lockable with reproduction locks - brass reproduction hardware is used throughout. The overall size of the cabinet can be customized to your space requirements and storage needs. This cabinet could easily be built from Maple, Walnut, Mahogany or Cherry.
The dimensions of the corner cabinet are approximately 94" high x 51" wide (maximum cabinet width excluding molding) x 25" deep - these dimensions can be customized to meet specific requirements.
